Rose

I wrote this a couple years ago and never kept working on it. It was supposed to be a book about a girl who goes through many strange events in a strange world. Here are the first three paragraphs explaining the character, Rosaline. Definitely not my best work but keep in mind I was much younger when I wrote this.

Rosaline Evergreen was a fourteen year old girl living in a home with her two parents who cared only about their work. Rosaline had long strait black hair that was smooth as silk and she had bright eyes, one blue the other green that complimented her perfect black hair. Rosaline was a kind girl who loved animals, plants, water, and many other elements of nature. Rosaline’s father, Henry Evergreen, was a writer. He would write stories about war, economy, money, power, greed, and any other thing that makes most books boring. He has written thirty seven books so far and only about three of them have been published. Mr. Evergreen sits on his computer most of the day, writing and researching. He is a slightly tall man; he is forty and has brown hair and brown eyes. He has bags under his eyes because he rarely sleeps. To stay awake he constantly drinks coffee, but that doesn’t help most of the time.

Mrs. Laura Evergreen, Rosaline’s mother, worked as a teacher in a local law school. She was a stuck up woman who only cared about herself. She loved her work, though; she sometimes loved it more than her family. She would spend almost all day grading papers, making tests, checking schedules, and many other things related to her work as a teacher. There was a large stack of papers on Rosaline’s parent’s bed on the side that her father was supposed to sleep on. These stacks of papers were mostly from Mrs. Evergreen’s teaching. Since Mr. Evergreen would rarely sleep in a bed and usually on an office chair with a keyboard for a pillow, and then having to press backspace for about five minutes in the morning because his face typed too many letters, Mrs. Evergreen would use the bed as her own office.

Rosaline was a lonely girl, she had no friends. Her only friend was the family bird, Francesco. Francesco was a small parakeet but he had a loud chirp, though it was harmonious for Rosaline. He would sing at the top of his lungs every afternoon. He would flutter his yellow wings in a preparing fashion for his solo performance at noon, everyday. Of course Rosaline’s parents hated the annoying bird, but Rosaline loved Francesco. Rosaline would run over to a pet store a few blocks away to grab Francesco some food every week.
